History of Lansdowne

Lansdowne Nursery is a fourth generation family run nursery which was originally based in Lansdowne Road , Goring-by-Sea. It was then moved to Dappers Lane in Angmering just before the second world war. The nursery grew Carnations, Freesias and Chrysanthemums and took them to Covent Garden by train from Angmering station.

In the 1990s bedding plants and lettuces were sold from greenhouses on Roundstone Lane, on the site which is now Bramley Green estate.

The nursery is now run by Dan and Hannah and overlooks the picturesque Highdown Hill in Ferring.

Lansdowne Plants is a small family run nursery. We produce a wide range of herbaceous perennials and ornamental grasses.

We raise our stock on site, growing naturally strong local plants. Our aim is to offer a wide choice of plants which we find interesting and hope you do as well.

As plants are our passion we are continually changing and adding to our range. Most of the stock fluctuates through the growing season so, do pop in regularly or contact us in advance to check availability.

We have a selection of shrubs and we also sell fruit trees and climbers. In spring and summer we have annuals and pot plants.

Testimonial

Cannot recommend Dan and Co highly enough. The best kept secret between Chichester and Worthing. Have been coming here now for three years, for all my planting/basket requirements. Superb value for what are all extremely healthy plants and shrubs. Can't stop coming back for more and need a bigger garden!
