Amazingly scented phlox for a shading spot in the garden, perfect under a large shrub or woodland area. This semi evergreen perennial has powder blue flowers in spring or early summer and is perfect for ground cover or planted at the front of a border. Prefers a humus rich normal/acidic soil.
Everyone loves japanese Acers! and we have plenty now avaliable. Acer ‘Sango Kaku’ is one of our favourites! A striking small tree with bright orangey red stems in the winter, green spring foliage in the spring and yellow autumn colour there is something for all seasons. Common name is the coral bark maple it can grow up to 6 metres in 20 years and has an award of garden merit from the royal horticultural society.
Also in stock is ‘Acer Bloodgood’. Very popular with our customers as it keeps its dark crimson red foliage from spring to autumn.
Prunus incisa ‘Kojo-no-mai’ AGM. You really know spring if here when this small twisted shrubby prunus comes into flower! Not like other flowering cherries this rarely grows taller than 6ft so can easily be grown in a small garden. Native to the volcanic slopes of Mount Fuji which is often covered in low cloud this little beauty can tolerate semi shade. Happy in any soil!
Euphorbia characias ‘Portugese Velvet’. This amazing dome shaped Euphorbia with soft velvet evergreen leaves has been given an award of garden merit by the RHS. Ours on the nursery seems to happily grow in thick heavy dry clay. 60cm Height. Full sun. In flower now!!
